Howdy, I am seting up a hardwire IR system for a customer with an older Sony HT Receiver STR-DE635 and it does not respond to the Xantech micro link signals. all other equipment in the stack is responding fully, even by using a programmed Sony 3100 IR remote.
I am certain of the IR receiver window location.
could the receiver IR frequency window be outside the 30-100 Khz?
If so, are there any other receivers that i could use?

I found this manual http://129.33.22.12/release/STRDE635.PDF and it looks like the remote window is just to the right of the display button. Is that correct?

Does the receiver respond directly to the RMAV3100?

Did you try getting the unit to respond with the IR emitter placed a few inches away from the receiver? I've found that a lot of older components have the IR receiver mounted flush to the face of the unit and are very susceptible to IR overload. If this works then the easiest fix is to cover the IR window with a piece of black electrical tape with a pin hole under the emitter.

I highly doubt that it is a frequency response issue because the remote codes for that receiver are included in all of the Sony, UEI, URC and Harmony remote control databases and they would not provide codes for equipment they could not control.
