Hello:
I am working on a house renovation project for a client who wants to install a surveillance system consisting of a few cameras wired to a PC based DVR for recording the video. they offer a client software application which can be loaded onto any PC, allowing a user to monitor the house from anywhere with an internet connection.

What I'd like to do is to have the PC/ DVR located in the house, but far from the master bedroom. I'd like to have a small computer or monitor located in the master bedroom which has the software loaded on it and is running in standby mode, say. the goal would eb to be able to turn on this tpc or monitor and very quickly have the machine activate, and be able to monitor the cameras.

Q: is the tablet pc the right piece of gear for this? if so, which make/ model?

how quickly can I have the tablet pc 'awake' from a 'sleep' (or standby or eq.) state?

alternately, is there a monitor which can be located 75 or 80 feet away from the pc?

thanks for any responses!

We don't sell tablets, but I can say that you are able to wake up a sleeping PC within a few seconds. My laptop takes about 25 seconds to go from sleeping to up and functional running WinXP.
