I have an NX-8 system and both of my keypads went dark. I checked the board and there is 17.2 vac on the ac terminals on the strip and the backup battery is fully charged - about 13.5 vdc.
I have very low voltage on the KP pos and com terminals about 2.7 ac. I powered down the board - thought that might help but no luck. I also disconnected both Key pads and connected them one at a time to see if either worked alone - no luck. My security company is out of business and it looks to me like I need to replace the board. Any opinions on that????
Can anyone tell me the correct voltage across the KP pos and com terminals? 2.7 vac seems awfully low.
Thanks

Me again,
I was wondering if the board is available w/o the panel? It seems like it can only be purchased together. Trying to save a couple of bucks. The box seems fine!

Hi Jedco,
To answer some of your earlier questions, the keypad voltage should be 12v across com and pos, 6-7v across the data. Try removing both keypads completely and check voltage to confirm the panel is ok, if it is then connect the keypads to the panel using a short 1 foot or so cable.
Although it is not currently shown on our website, I do have a Caddx part number NX-8BOFG which is a board only, the price is $71.95.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions, or of course you can post here. |
