FYI, I've discovered that the infrared light given off by typical neon bar signs is enough to completely wash out your IR signals from your remotes. Thus far, I've not found an easy solution, short of turning off the neon signs/lights when using the home theater. RF converters will work, but the IR receivers must be shielded from the neon light coming in. Its too bad as the neon lighting is often great mood lighting.

If anyone has also experienced this and identified a solution, I'd like to hear it.

Thanks,
MK

I did a little research for you.

Quoted from a Usenet discussion:
Quote: Neon lights cause alot of interference with any type of consumer electronics such a shome network, wireless speakers, wireless network, and IR from remotes. My suggestion is to use a CFL (Compact flourscent) friendly dinky link from Xantech. I have used this product in many homes and it has corrected the problem. Once you install this, the light on the dinky linkk will only go on when an IR command is being sent.
Links to products:
780-80 CFL Dinky link
789-44PS Connecting block with Power Supply and IR emmiters

Hope this helps!
