Hello all, my name is Adam and this is my first post. I am an avid do-it-yourselfer and I hope someone can give me some advice.
My mother lives out of town and has a problem with the video "tiling" on certain channels with her cable system on all her TV's (4 total). I am going to visit at the end of the month and I want to know how I can resolve this problem for her. My mother has called the cable company several times and the problem continues (not sure what they do while there but this company seems especially bad when it comes to customer service). I feel that this is something that could be fixed with an amplifier (I also intend to check the integrity of the cable as well). I was thinking of going with the C-0310 on SmartHome to amplify and hopefully resolve what I think is a signal degradation issue. Again, I didn't go with the CVT-15PIA because my mom's home system is just a simple 4 TV set up using Cable signal and cable boxes. Can I get some advice on this? Does that seem reasonable?
Sorry, I am just learning this and my local college couldn't get enough students enrolled for the Home Technology Integration course for me to learn on my own.
Thanks for taking the time. |

Amplification may do the job. But over a over amplified signal may cause other problems.
Please let me know how long each coax run is and if they are all home run.
The C-0310 will be fine if all runs under 50 feet.
I would also take note on how many splitters are being used and check the connections. |

| Thanks for the response. All the runs should be under 50 feet as it's not a large house- as far as the number of splitters, I am guessing 2 or 3. I will be sure to check them as well. Thanks for the advice- if there is any other information or words of advice, I would appreciate them. |

At this point I think it would be the best to stay with the C-0310
Every splitter that you have reduces the signal strength. For example, a two way splitter will reduce both outputs by 3.5dB a three way 5.5dB and a four way by 7dB.
If you can get all the cable runs to one location you can use the C-0314 amplified splitter.

If you can't home run all cable I would stick with the C-0310 |
