I'm considering upgrading from X-10 to UPB for automated light control including many low-voltage lights. Is, for example, the Simply Automated SAUS240 UPB Transceiver-Controller able to control low-voltage lights including dimming control?

Thanks.

UPB has a specific low voltage I/O device and that handles incoming and outgoing low voltage signals, and you can see more details here:

I spoke with their tech specialist today and he informs me you can control low voltage lighting with an SAUS240, but he warns that you will need to leave an extra amount of space to allow for the ballast on the low voltage device to heat up. Ballasts do not like to be dimmed.
