Hi Jed,
Channel Vision is one of the manufacturer's that provides structured wiring products. We can design a custom structured wiring panel for you which can include items like video, audio, phone, data and many others. Essentially the structured wiring panel would be the main location for distribution of electronic signals. Structured wiring panels can expand with your homes growth, for automation or distribution.
Feel free to contact me directly for more information. |

I'd like to have my phone, data, audio and cable all ran to
one location with modules for each there. From there each room or
location will have it's on feed. This is supposed to have better
reception, signal, less interference, easier to add to and troubleshoot
and fix any problems that occur. Leviton, Pass And Seymour, Home Tech
and others seem to offer such products but I'm not sure exactly what I
need and the cost of it. I'l like to do it myself and hopefully save a
bunch of money. I'm thinking about using
http://www.swhowto.com/index.htm as a guide and possibly frame a
closet, make or buy a cabinet for it to go in. Any ideas and\or
feedback will be appreciated. The longest distance will be around 50', the shortest around 15'.
I've already ran 1000' of 12/2 speaker wire from panel to different locations but I still have the living area and two other rooms to do. I have about 700' of CAT5 E left, can I skin 2 pair of wires, twist together for the positive and the same for the negative on each speaker location?
Any idea what parts I need and how much they cost for the 13 audio, 6 data, 8 phone and 10 cable locations? I'd like to run the entertainment center audio (using it's volumn control for all locations) to the panel and from there to the rest of the house. I'm framing a closet (new house being built) for my structured media panel and would like to just but the modules I need and mount on a plywood board mounted on the wall with separate PVC pipes coming through the sheetrock feeding each type of cable to their respective modules. I'd like to put modem, router, switch if needed, AC outlets, etc. all in there too. Thanks for any ideas and feedback.
Thanks. |

Hi,
I have 3 TV's and want to build a video distribtution closet with these components:
3 LCD TVs (Two High Def, one High Def Ready)
Standard Def Stand-alone TIVO
Direct TV High Def Tivo
Two 5.1 Home Theatre systems (one Sony Dream Machine); the other is components (HT Receiver, cd player, dvd player, Direct TV receiver, SD Tivo).
VCR Player
DVD Player
CD Player
Bedroom - 60 feet from closet
Kitchen - 35 feet from closet
LR - 30 feet from closet
Basically, I want to be able to watch the Direct TV HIGH Def TiVo on any of the three tvs (BR, LR, Kitchen); 5.1 stereo in bedroom and 5.1 in living room; standard def tivo in living room and bedroom. Use TV sound in kitchen but always use 5.1 home theatre in LR and Bedroom. Be able to watch DVD on any tv. Air Antenna on B/R, L/R and Kitchen TV (in the event Direct TV goes out). |
