Hello --
I am looking for a X-10 recepticle module to control my outdoor spa. Can the X10 PRO 15A Split Duplex Receptacle (Item # PAO11) be used as an outdoor recepticle in a climate where temps can reach 100oF to -10oF. If not this product, do you have one I can use for this use. My Spa requires a 120V 15A power source. You have a very nice site -- inviting yet efficient. Thanks.

I think a better bet would be the ELK-9100 just based on the load and its requirements.
The problems you will see is that the humidity will corrode any electronic device you put in there, and at -10oF almost all electronics will behave irregularly.
If you could seperate the controller from the humidity of the spa, and protect it from the extreme cold I think it would work perfectly for you. |

Hey thnaks for the suggestion -- looks like something I could install. I will give it a try. However, could you still tell me if the X10 PRO 15A Split Duplex Receptacle (Item # PAO11) would be ok to use outdoors? Thanks again.

| The PAO11 is definitely not safe for outdoor usage. |

Ok -- appreciate the info -- do you *have* any X-10 dual recepticles for outdoor use? I have other items I would like to use X-10 to control. The Elk-9100 would be an ideal solution for my SPA because if I ever decide to convert it to 220V, it could still be used. It is really a great product -- :D.
Thanks for all your time.

The Freewire FWLROD can be used outdoors, its a 500w (incandescant load) plug extension. So if you have an extension cord outside, or an outdoor standard outlet this will plug right in.
