Maybe someone can answer several questions for me.
1. Going to buy the Elk M1 Gold
2. Will I be able to use the existing wires and sensors that are run to the windows and doors?
3. Is the box that ships big enough to add an 8 zone wireless board to it or will I need a bigger box than the one that ships?
4. Is the documentation and or phone support good enough so that someone that has never done this but is intelligent, has build houses, installed low voltage before etc can do this. I have never installed an alarm system before so if both the documentation and phone support are lacking I think I will be in trouble. Thoughts?
Thanks for your answers. Gene |

Yes, any wired security sensors will work with the Elk-M1 system. Any wireless sensors must be the GE Caddx sensors:

The Elk Wireless module is designed to be mounted on the outside of the security can so you do not need a bigger box.
As professional security systems go this Elk panel is on the easier side to program. Everything is text menu driven on the keypad for simplicity. You can also program the panel using software that is available after you purchase and register that panel. The documentation is very complete and we will support any problems or questions that may arise during purchase and installation.
Please let me know if you have any questions on picking out what components you will need.
