I've had some X10 devices for a while now. I had been reading about Insteon devices which sounded like they were going to be an upgrade from my X10 devices. Now I just started reading about UPB devices. SmartHomeUSA says that they are more reliable than Insteon (which I thought were better than X10). So is Insteon usage going to be on the decline? Is UPB going to become the protocol of choice. How long will it be around. X10 has been used for, what, 30 years? With switches going for $75 or so, I need to feel like there will be long term support for UPB products before I spend a lot on devices. I read about the difference in protocol between X10 and UPB and UPB certainly fixes many of the shortcomings in X10. UPB looks expensive but looks good. I just need to see the community adopting it as the new standard. How many manufactures make UPB compatable devices?

Does anybody have any information that will help answer my concerns?

Thanks,
Curtis
