I have a Shed ~80’ from the house and I would like to control the spotlight (it is on a switch inside the shed) from inside the house as well. Also, there is an old abandon light switch (from previous construction) that, if possible, I would like to use as the switch location.

The shed is wired from elec box in basement (20a dedicated circuit) to the shed directly.

The dead/abandon switch is in the kitchen in a double switch box. The other switch is on a kitchen circuit that controls the overhead kitchen light. I don't know if there is full power in the box or just the black wire for the overhead light but I can check tonight if you need me to.

What would you recommend I get for this?

Hello,

As long as it is the same power meter and the shed switch is protected from the weather you can use two X-10 wall switches.

For the switch in the Shed you can use the XPS3 http://www.smarthomeusa.com/Shop/Lighting/X10-Receivers/X10Pro-Receiver-Switches/Item/XPS3-WI/ and for the switch in the kitchen you can use a http://www.smarthomeusa.com/Shop/Lighting/X10-Transmitters/X10Pro-Keypad-Transmitters/Item/XPT1WK/ XPT1 Transmitter Kit

In the kitchen you will only need a black (hot) wire and a white (neutral) connection. For the shed you will need three wires, black (hot), White (neutral) and a load wire. If you only have two wires in the shed use the http://www.smarthomeusa.com/Shop/Lighting/X10-Receivers/X10Pro-Receiver-Switches/Item/XPD3-WI/ XPD3

If the two switches are on different electrical phases I recommend http://www.smarthomeusa.com/Shop/Lighting/Phase-Couplers/Item/HCA02-10E/ HCA02-10E Coupler Repeater to insure the signal gets to the other location.

Please let me know if you have any questions
