|
|
I have a new Honeywell wireless home security system with voice management. I am trying to use this in a cottage with wireless freeze and flood sensors.
The sensors work fine and trigger the alarm, but it won't dial out. It seems to alarm fine - speaking the alarm - but there does not appear to be any attempt to dial the programmed numbers. The power-out alarm works, but also does not dial its programmed number.
I've tried two different cords. The line is fine. I've tried adding the 0 for pulse dialing (even though I am in a touch-tone service) but nothing seems to work.
Am I missing some required step to activate the emergency dialing? System Status reports the number is programmed correctly.
Thanks

It is a great system, however, it is no longer supported by Honeywell.
By pressing the system status key twice you can confirm that the phone numbers are programmed correctly. These panels don't fail often but it does sound like the dialer part is defective.
If you bought this panel in the last year please contact the sales department and they can send you a new one.

Thanks very much for the reply. Sadly, this was a system I bought while building a cottage and it ended up being almost two years before it was installed. As I mentioned, the Status "talkback" confirms the numbers are programmed correctly, so it is some glitch in the dialer.
Can anyone suggest a similar dailing flood/freeze alarm that IS supported? Thanks again. |

The Skylink System is supported and can dial upto nine numbers.
http://www.smarthomeusa.com/Shop/Security/Skylink/Skylink-Total-Protection/
You can use the AD-433E dialer (bottom of the page) to work with any sensor on that page.
Or you can use the SC-1000 security system that includes the dialer.
You can also try your luck on a new Honeywell panel that will work with your existing sensors. It is only $39.95 and we will support the one year warranty.
