|
|
Can any one point me to the current building code standards on how to switch using low voltage input 5VDC to 120VAC? I bought the relay switches. I'm wondering if there are any restrictions on doing this? My relay switches are rated for 20 AMPS so they should work in function, as long as the inspector will allow me to do this.
Other questions: Am I legally allowed to run low voltage and high voltage to the same box? If I completely isolate all low voltage circuits in one box, will this become legal?
Thanks,
Chris |

your best bet is to check with a local electrician because local codes may apply.
The NFPA is the authority on fire, electrical and building safety. They do have a lot of online resources, however, new code updates must be purchased.

My understanding is that Low voltage must be in a separate box isolated from line voltage. |
