I have a small apartment in which I have all the lights controlled with x10. I have 1 plug in lamp module, 5 xpd3 switches and 2 xpdf controllers for two lights w/o switches.

When I installed all of this stuff, I noticed that I had different outputs from all of my other devices other then 1 of my xpdf's. All of the other devices turn on and off full with no noticeable ramp time. One of my xpdf's had a pretty large ramp rate. Also, if it is turned off, but still addressed and I hit the 'brighten ' button, it turns on about 50% dim. I have checked and this module is labeled identical to my other xpdf.

Now I had to buy one more switch (xpd3) this week as I had mis counted how many I needed. After install I noticed that this switch reacts as my one different xpdf with an on/off ramp rate that is noticeably longer then the other lights that appear instant on/off. This switch also remembers its last dim state.

Now I have checked both the xpdf and the xpd3 look externally the same as all of the other devices that I have and they are labeled with the same part number. Is there a reason that these devices perform differnetly and seem to have different features? I like these additional features, but they seem strange as they turn on/off so differently then my other devices. Just wondering if there is a way to "program" or set these odd ball devices to perform like all my other devices?

Best regards,

Tom Weichmann
