Hello,
I purchased the Motorola Homesight system from SmartHomeUSA.com in June of this year. I purchased a ton of components for it also.. I went with 2 of the day/night cameras, and am sad to say that one of them does not work properly.

I plug it in, and it works anywhere from 2-25 minutes, and then the lights go off and the system cannot detect the camera any more. I swapped the two cameras, to ensure that it wasn't the power supply and sure enough, the second one works fine on that same power supply. It is obvious that something is wrong with the camera itself and I would like to get it fixed or replaced.

Is that something that SmartHomeUSA can help me with or do I need to try and contact Motorola??

Hello!

Usually we require you to speak to technical support in order to confirm the device is defective. It sounds like you are already on the right track.

Please connect the device within few feet of the base station (2-3 ft). Then, try deleting it from your system and then rediscovering (still sitting close to it). Please make sure you're running the most recent version of homesight (the upgrade program is located in the Motorola Homesight group).

There is no way to prevent a few defects from getting through the manufacturer to us, although it is exceedingly rare to come across them. Sorry for the trouble!
