I read an article that mentioned vampire power is used by electronic appliances and home electronics that suck out power when you're not using them. Will your Smart Strip stop vampire power?

Yes, in short the SmartStrip cuts off other devices power when you turn off one control device.

For example you plug a computer into the control outlet and your monitor, speakers and printer/scanner into the switched outlets. Now whenever you turn your computer off it will cut any "vampire power" that the other devices will draw while in standby.

The same scenario can go for an entertainment center with the TV or surround sound receiver in the control outlet and other devices in the switched outlet. Now whenever you turn off the control device the other devices are turned off so they don't use their standby voltage.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
