I have a ceiling fan/light fixture that is wired to one switch (one hot and neutral line), so the fan and light can not be controlled independently. The fan/light documentation states not to use a solid state fan speed control, as it will damage the fan electronics. The light is halogen, so it may have a power supply?? My question: Are there X10 compatible appliance switches that I could wire two of at the fan box (in ceiling) to independently switch the fan and light on and off? Light dimmer and fan speed control is not needed.

If you can get two XPFM modules in the box that will control both.

This item does require 3 wires, hot, load and neutral. That should not be a problem as it will be the switch box. Here is a wiring image for a example:

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks, that looks like exactly what I need. I'll give it a try.
