Ok... so im trying to get my homesight to work corectly... and i want to install the latest software... The problem im running in to is that when i install the software on the smarthomeusa page when it installs there is always a problem with the drivers.. it cant find the NUVision.sys file... i even put the CD in that the homesight came with to use the NUVision file off there and it would error out..

Then i tried to just install the software on the CD and that installed just fine... however when i then try to update it will not update at all.. the (please hold looking for updates" screen comes up and then it just dissapears and nothing happens... or when i try to install the software from this page when i had already installed the software off the disc.. it says that i must first upgrade to version 2.5.14 before upgrading to the 2.6.18 version.....

Anyone have any suggestions on how to get the 2.6.18 version on my computer!!?? this is getting annoying... and apparently there is NO support from Motorola anymore for this homesight product... its not even on ther website anymore...? HELP haha

oh i have tried to install it on 2 computers..

1 running Windows Media Center
1GB Ram
1.87ghz dual core
120gb HDD

and 1 running windows home
1.8ghz single core
512mb ram
160gb hdd

both are service pack 2....

Hello,

When you installed the software did you wait to plug in the HomeSight hub until the drivers were installed? If not you will have to uninstall the HomeSight software and then manually delete the HomeSight folders. Also, if you are upgrading you must make sure you completely remove homesight folders.

What happens is the driver install looks in the older folder and can not find the new driver. When it comes time you must point the driver install to the correct file.

2.6.18 is compatible with both Windows XP and Vista, however, I am not sure about Windows media center.

Please let me know if you still have problems.

I was able to get the HMEZ system running on a Windows XP Media Center PC on the first try. All I had to do was point to the programfiles\Motorolahomesight\drivers folder

I even downloaded the zip file from our site to make sure I am in the same type of environment.

Some customers had luck uninstalling the software, running the DeleteMHSDrivers.exe in the homesight folder and then make sure that the homesight folder gets deleted before trying again.
