Jus so you know, I did a search, but could not get the right answer I want. I am purchasing a new house, and I want to have camera survillance. They have a regular alarm there, but I do not want to pay $32.00 a month for 3 yrs when I can call the police or fire department myself if notified, plus I can check on the house before I call. Unless I am thinking wrong.
Anyway, I started by looking at the Motorolla EZ 100 and then went to the EZ200. I am still not sure if that is what I need. I would like to watch outside and inside the house. day/night, light or dark.
I would like to be notified by phone (verizon), and text page and to multiple people.
I can use my computer for storage. I would be willing to buy a CPU dedicated only for that purpose and have wireless access via my laptop.
What else can having it monitored add to it?
Is there any benefit to using the regular alarm? can I intergrate the two?
so many q's...Please help

I think yuo meant the Motorola HMEZ1000 and HMEZ2000. Both of these should fulfill your requirements. Let me detail some points:
1) The Motorola's cameras are not "outdoor-safe". They will be damaged by the elements. You can either put them into a clear enclosure, or protect them from the elements naturally (Mount under an overhang, etc)
2) The cameras have a lower resolution than our High-end surveillance equipment. You may have difficulty seeing longer distances (over ~30feet from the camera), or longer distances away from the base unit (over ~100feet, not taking account for any obstructions to the signal).
3) The Day/Night cameras have (relatively) low IR light power output, so I wouldn't rely on them for seeing further than 15-20 feet in the dark. However in natural or artificial light, both the day/night, day, and wired cameras are superb performers, with built in motion detection.
4) The system can notify you via email only. It cannot make telephone calls!!! It can, however, send a text message to a cellphone (through an underlying E-Mail technology), and send captured photos to any email address. You will need to either a) sign up for motorolas service (free for a year) or use your own "Remote desktop" solution to see live video from another computer or cellphone over the internet.
5) The system DOES have door, window, motion, temperature, and water sensors, so it can act as a pretty robust security system. Couple this with the home/away keys, and you have yourself a nice, CHEAP, security system with no codes required. It cannot interface with your existing security system in any way.
As far as video surveillance goes, we carry a robust line of high-end cameras, including camera servers (to send video over the internet), and Video-PC cards. Making your own DVR/motion alerter out of a computer will be a rather involved project that I cannot explain here, but we do sell the parts to make it possible.
So turn-key solutions? Your best bet for internet video monitoring would be one of our DVR/Internet Servers. The best turn-key solution for a security system that can call you directly upon intrusion, would be one of our Skylink systems. The best turn-key solution for both security and monitoring, would have to be our HMEZ2000 kit, with the extra sensors and cameras you require.
Let me know if you need more clarification! |

The useful method you can use is to install the security products. For example the Indoor/Outdoor Motion Detector, Garage Door Monitor and Door/window sensor set.
They can alert you when motion is detected surrounding your garage, home or business. Additionally, they can also notify you when a garage door is open.
Door/window sensor set is the magnetic type contact sensor. When your door or window is open the sensor set can notify you timely.
Supervised Sensor: monitors the sensors and their battery condition automatically.
