| SmarthomeUSA's website says this siren is compatible with my Honeywell x10 system and connects to it's control panel. How do I do this? There is no siren option in the panel's device manager menu. Also, the siren reads as 6-12VDC, does this mean I cannot wire it to AC? Thanks in advance! |

The DS-406 connects to the old HSK security system by hardwiring to the screw that say siren on the bottom of the control panel. You do not need to enable the siren via programming. It connects with low voltage wire and it does not require any other power then the connection on the old Honeywell panel.

| Thanks, I found the screws for this hook up upon further examination of the panel. I hooked up a dry cell 12VDC battery to it instead of the 9v in an effort to make the siren louder, but it may be that the panel restricts it to 9v? It didn't make it much louder nor allowed for the full cyclic sound wave as it had when I tested the siren by itself using a car battery prior to installation. |

| This system is designed to run on 9vac with the provided transformer only. You should not use it with any other power source. This panel is very basic and doesn't give the option to boost the siren output. |
