|
|
Hi,
I am trying to configure SMTP settings using my comcast account as under:
Outgoing Mail SMTP : smtp.comcast.net
E-Mail Address : myAccount@Comcast.net
Check on "My server requires Authentication"
myAccount@Comcast.net
myPassword
In my Outlook express the port number for Outgoing Mail is set as 587 (as suggested by ComCast, they had disabled port 25 as they suspected some Spamming from this computer by mhm.exe). There is no way for me to set 587 as the port number in HomeSight. OL Express works fine after changing the port number to 587.
How do I get this to work?

I am sorry but you can not change the port settings in the HomeSight program. The problem here it that mhm.exe IS HomeSight so it looks like ComCast is blocking HomeSight. If you set a more then one rule to send emails every I can see why they believe it is spam. I suggest that you contact them because even if you could change the email port they will still flag mhm.exe if you are sending more emails per min. then what the Comcast TOS says.
For testing purposes you can try Outgoing Mail SMTP : smtp.comcast.net:587 as a test but I do not think that it will work. |
