Bought a couple of the smart strips and using successfully except in one case. I have an arcade cabinet that I built and am currently using a 25" Magnavox tube tv. It's probably a good 15 years old. Don't have the model number currently but should be able to find it. The problem is that I have the computer in the control switch and the tv in one of the switched outlets. When I turn the PC on, the tv turns on and then immediately turns off. When I manually turn the tv back on it will then turn off when I shut the PC down. Is there any insight as to why the tv would be doing this when using the smart strip?

Yes, the switching of power to the switched outlets is exactly how the SmartStrip was designed to work.

It should be used with one device and its accessories, whether that is your TV and the DVD player, cable box, audio system, and VCR........... or your PC, the monitor, speakers, scanner, printer, etc.

You choose one device as the "controller" device. This plugs into the blue control outlet. Whenever that device is turned off by you, the SmartStrip "sees" that and switches off the switched outlets for you.

As far as your TV automatically shutting back off when power is turned on at first, that may be an issue specific to your TV (does it do that when you plug it into a normal outlet for the first time?) or it could mean you need to fine-tune your SmartStrip sensitivity.

See the instructions that came with the SmartStrip for more information.
