Hello to all,
I just joined this forum to see if I can find answers to some of my questions, issues, and designs. Currently, I am installing some low voltage dimmers (ICON #2876D and SwitchLinc V2) both are rated for hi wattage 600w and 1000w. But, after they are installed and turned on for 10 minutes or more they become very hot. These dimmers are controlling a 300w magnetic transformer that only has 225 watts of lights attached. The switches can get so hot that touching them for a short time will hurt.
So,
what am I doing wrong?
this can not be normal?
should I use a different switch?
and any other comments you would like to make...
Thanks for any and all help...

Hello Bob, you will need to contact the company you bought your Insteon devices from.
Insteon is a proprietary technology and only sold by one vendor.
We have heard of many problems, some similar to yours (which sounds dangerous!). We do not recommend, sell, nor support Insteon devices at all. |
