I have a GE NX-8 alarm panel that has x-10 or Rs- 232 control capability(with the right modules). I just purchased the vera system controller (still in transit) and have numerous Z-wave modules installed in my home. from what i have read, the vera only controls z-wave modules. I have seen the WD x-10 to zwave bridge on websites but it doesn't seem to be available

Is there another way to connect my alarm to my vera for remote control of the system?

Essentially, what i would like to do is use my phone to remotely access the vera gateway and arm/disarm my alarm when i am locking/unlocking the zwave door lock.

is there a third party device that would allow them to communicate?

any help would be appreciated.

Unfortunately there is currently no way to interface your Vera system with your alarm panel.

Hello Drew,

I am currently trying to get the developers of Vera to support the GE Caddx security panels.

If you hopped over to the the Mi Casa Verde forum and showed some interest too, maybe it will motivate them to support this system. They did respond to my thread and said they would be willing to write the Luup code to integrate Vera with my GE/Caddx NX-584 (Home Automation Interface)

Stuff I have done so far:

I just installed the NX-584 board today.

I found the Protocol documentation for the NX-584 and posted the link on the MCV message board.

I just submitted a trouble ticket today, via the vera tech support page, (#1188) to hopefully get moving with this development!

Anyways, let them know your interested too and maybe we can get somewhere!
