I have all of my CDs ripped to a dedicated Music computer. Presently I am using wireless speakers to send the music out to six rooms. The further I get from the transmitter the more problems I have with adequate sound.

I want to replace the wireless speakers with a wired system. I have found many distribution systems for stereo but so far have not located anything for Monaural. Plus I have a limited budget.

This is what I think I need:
some sort of amplifier with a single input source that I can connect to my PC Soundcard output & 6 to 8 monaural outputs, a speaker & volume control for each room.

Any suggestions on equipment would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

All the systems that we have are stereo. If you use a balanced line out from the PC sound card you can get a stereo signal distributed.

The easiest system to do what you want would be the Channel Vision AB-901

This is a complete system to distribute audio to 4 rooms and is easily expandable to 8 by getting and additional AB-404 four additional AB-124 keypads and additional speakers. This system connects to one audio source and sends digital audio over cat5 wire to each rooms keypad and speakers are wired directly to the keypad.
